Belgian championship preliminaries 2009

Full results of the preliminaries of the Belgian championship are now available here.

Belgian championship preliminaries 2009

The results of the preliminaries of the Belgian championship:

In the first round there were two surprising results, with Daniel French (6k) winning against Kristof Bossee (1d) and Kenny Debacq (7k) against Michael Meeschaert (1k).

After the first day there was only one player with no lost games, Lucas Neirynck, who finished the entire tournament without losing a single game.
The first three places were certain after 6 rounds, but the last round was still exciting to determine fourth and fifth place. Only when the final game finished (Kristof Bossee won by just half a point from Dr. Wong Chi Yiu), were the reduced SOS, SOS and SODOS clear enough to determine the people who placed themselves for the finals.

  1. Lucas Neirynck
  2. Wang Yue
  3. Christopher Annachachibi
  4. Michael Meeschaert
  5. Daniel French
