The Belgian Go Federation wishes you a happy new year 2024 !!!.

And invites you to the annual General Assembly of the Belgian Go Federation, which will be held the 14th January 2024 at 14:00.

This meeting is a unique moment to discuss over every Go related activities in Belgium.
Representatives of every Go club in Belgium are expected, and every BGF member is invited to participate.
Please come with your enthusiasm and your projects to shape up the future of the Belgian Go life !

It's also an important opportunity to discover what the Federation does and maybe join us as volunteer or as member of the board (with a board of only 3 members - we terribly need more volunteers !).

1. Report on the activities (by the president) and financial report (by the treasurer) of 2023
2. Projects & ideas for 2024 (and later) and adoption of the 2024 budget
3. Election of the Board of Administration

Dear Go players,

We need and wanted to have a new Belgian Go Federation site with modern design and new features because we think you deserve it. :) Sadly, the existing project failed, mostly for technical reasons, without concrete results, so sadly you haven't seen anything of it despite all the good work done. :(

But for the future of Go in Belgium the Federation site is very important to communicate about our hobby. So the project is started again.

Therefore, if you have good knowledge in IT development and especially web technologies and are ready to invest a good amount of time as volunteer for the creation of the new Belgian Go Federation site you are very welcome !
Please contact the board or phone us (see contact page) as soon as possible.


In details, we want to have a running new site by the end of this year, focusing primarily on the core needs. We search for free volunteers but we may also contribute financially for legitimate costs or if it's worth it (pros are also welcome but for your information: we are not wealthy).
In practice, the board will check the different proposals and ideas and discuss comparatively to our needs - with the aim preferably to gather the different volunteers around definite tasks. Within the next weeks a decision will be made to clarify which ideas are chosen and who could do what. The aim is to start the project by the end of summer.

Lucas Neirynck 6d, 11-fold Belgian Champion will lead a tsumego competition on 13/06 at 19:00. The tsumego will increase in difficulty throughout the session.

The board will be shown on KGS, in the Belgian room.
For audio, we will use the Belgian Baduk Café Discord server.

In this event, Lucas Neirynck 6d, 11-fold Belgian Go Champion, will play a simultaneous game with 5 BGF members, followed by a commentary of the games.
This will take place on Thursday 02/06, at 20:30.

The spots are limited, so for registration we work on a first-come-first-serve basis. For the registration form, click here.
Note that participation as free, but you must be a BGF member.

The games will take place on KGS, in the Belgian Room.
The Audio will be through the Belgian Baduk Café Discord.

These can be tournament games, online games, correspondance games, etc. We do recommend to only send in games where you had enough time to think carefully about your moves (i.e. no blitz games). Make sure to clarify whether you played white or black.
